Arsenal vs Everton Review
Arsenal comfortably secured a 2-0 win over Everton in the Premier League. The away supporters anticipated a tough game at the Emirates Stadium when Arsenal took the lead in the seventh minute. A corner kick from Arsenal created chaos in Everton’s penalty area, and after both Jordan Pickford and Vitali Mykolenko failed to clear the ball, Ezri Konsa scored his first goal for the Gunners from close range. This was also the first time Everton conceded a goal from a corner this season.

Returning to the starting lineup, Tyrique George cut inside and shot just wide of the far post at the other end. Shortly after, Gabriel had to clear the ball off the line following a chaotic goalmouth scramble from a set-piece. Arsenal then created a series of chances, with Noni Madueke narrowly missing twice, either side of a Mikel Merino header that went off target. Everton might have equalized before halftime against the flow of the game if not for David Raya, who was quick to stop a Thierno Barry flick after Ben White misjudged a header back to his goalkeeper.

Gabriel appeared to be done for the day when he injured his knee 10 minutes into the second half, but the Brazilian persevered and soon celebrated his first goal of the season by leaping highest to head in White’s cross with 22 minutes remaining. Up to that point, Everton had not managed a shot on target, making their chances of a comeback slim, and that proved true as Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall’s late glancing header went agonizingly wide, sealing Everton’s fate.

Mikel Arteta’s team has won 12 of their last 13 Premier League matches (with only 1 loss). Although they are still in second place, this result puts them level on 21 points with the league leaders, Manchester City. It’s a recurring pattern for the Merseysiders, who have managed only one win in their last 31 away Premier League encounters against this opponent (5 draws, 25 losses), and have gone without an away league win in nine matches since last season (5 draws, 4 losses).
