Bayern Munich vs Arsenal Review
Arsenal scored a late equalizer to secure a 2-2 draw against Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena in the UEFA Champions League (UCL), continuing their impressive form with only one loss in their last 14 away matches in the competition (10 wins, 3 draws). Both teams were missing key players, and Arsenal faced a setback when Bukayo Saka had to leave the game due to injury just 10 minutes in. However, a tactical adjustment, bringing on Eberechi Eze to play on the left wing while Noni Madueke shifted to the right, proved highly effective for the Gunners as they took the lead.

Martin Odegaard delivered a beautifully curled pass behind the defense for Eze, who scored for the second consecutive UCL game by half-volleying into the bottom corner. Despite an unusual lack of threat from set-pieces this season, Arsenal also created a few opportunities from corners, with Riccardo Calafiori and Bruno Guimaraes both shooting wide from the back post. Bayern were also creating chances themselves, and although Serge Gnabry should have challenged David Raya more against his former team, an advanced Alphonso Davies managed to score past the Spaniard to level the score before halftime.

The assist came from Harry Kane, who dropped deep and effortlessly distributed passes to his teammates. Early in the second half, both goalkeepers made impressive saves, Manuel Neuer tipped Guimaraes’ header onto the crossbar following another dangerous Arsenal corner, and shortly after, Raya reacted brilliantly to block Dayot Upamecano’s header. The game was very open at this stage, and Eze nearly scored his second goal after dribbling past his defender and shooting, but Neuer was there to make the save.

Bayern then went on the attack, and Kane’s shot seemed likely to give them the lead until Jurrien Timber raised his arm to block the ball from entering the net. As a result, a penalty was awarded, and Kane confidently converted it, scoring his 16th career goal against Arsenal by sending Raya the wrong way. Luis Diaz had a chance to secure the win when his curling shot was saved by Raya, but that missed opportunity was quickly punished as Arsenal equalized shortly after.

Viktor Gyokeres came off the bench, skillfully used his body to shield the defender, and then passed to Declan Rice, who delivered a brilliant strike into the bottom corner, securing a point for the Gunners. Bayern will be disappointed to settle for a draw, especially after dropping points against Viking last week, but they did extend their unbeaten home streak in group stage and league matches to 40 games (38 wins, 2 draws). Meanwhile, Arsenal remain unbeaten in this season’s competition with two wins and one draw.
