Premier League Roundup, Matchday 4
The fourth week of the Premier League has come to an end, showcasing thrilling games, outstanding individual displays, and surprising results. Here is the Premier League roundup for this matchday.
Liverpool 0-0 Fulham
Liverpool were held to a frustrating 0-0 draw at home by Fulham, who earned their first Premier League point of the season and extended Liverpool’s winless streak at Anfield to four league games. Liverpool continue to lag behind in the title race, while Fulham showed encouraging signs that may boost confidence in better times to come.

Crystal Palace 2-3 Ipswich
Zian Flemming scored a late goal to secure a 3-2 win for Ipswich Town against a 10-man Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park. This marked the Tractor Boys’ first Premier League victory over the Eagles in seven tries. Ipswich bounced back from losses to Manchester United and Liverpool to claim their second league win of the season.
Chelsea 2-2 Hull
Hull maintained their strong start to the Premier League season by securing a 2-2 draw away at Stamford Bridge against Chelsea. The Blues have now gone without a win in their last five home league matches against newly promoted teams (4 draws, 1 loss). This result is another positive for Hull, who is now in 4th place, two spots above the Blues early in the season.

Bournemouth 2-2 Brentford
Brentford maintained their unbeaten record in the Premier League this season (1 win, 3 draws) by playing an exciting 2-2 draw against Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium. Brentford continue to be the only team Bournemouth has never defeated in the Premier League (4 draws, 5 losses). Meanwhile, Brentford will be satisfied with earning a point, even though their winless streak in away top-flight matches has now extended to seven games (5 draws, 2 losses).
Aston Villa 1-2 Nottingham Forest
Nottingham Forest secured their first victory under Oliver Glasner on their fifth attempt, defeating Aston Villa 2-1 in the Premier League. This marked their first away win against Villa in any competition since 1994. Forest have now started well under Glasner, who has yet to lose in eight matches as a manager against Villa. On the other hand, Villa continue to stay in the relegation zone after experiencing their third consecutive home loss.
Tottenham 0-0 Everton
Tottenham Hotspur’s search for their first Premier League win and goal of the season continues after they were held to a 0-0 draw by Everton, who have now drawn their last three league games. For the first time in their history, Spurs have begun a new league season with four consecutive matches without scoring. Meanwhile, Everton remain unbeaten in this season’s Premier League, but they will be eager to convert these draws into victories soon.
Sunderland 0-2 Arsenal
Arsenal continued their perfect start to the Premier League season by securing a hard-fought 2-0 win against Sunderland, improving their impressive head-to-head record to only one defeat in the last 30 Premier League matches (19 wins, 10 draws).

Coventry 0-5 Brighton
Coventry City became only the second team in Premier League history to lose their first four matches of a season without scoring any goals, following their 5-0 home loss to Brighton & Hove Albion. As expected, Coventry currently occupy the bottom spot in the league standings, with their next opportunity to score points coming against Nottingham Forest next Saturday.
Manchester United 0-1 Manchester City
Manchester City, reduced to ten men after a first-half red card, managed to secure a 1-0 victory over Manchester United, preventing Red Devils manager Michael Carrick from becoming the first United boss since 1913 to win his first two league head-to-head matches against City. City managed to extend their unbeaten away streak to eight games.

Leeds 4-1 Newcastle
Dominic Calvert-Lewin shone as Leeds United dominated Newcastle United in the first half of their 4-1 victory at Elland Road, with the striker netting his eighth Premier League goal against the Magpies, a personal best. The win lifts Leeds to third place in the early Premier League standings after remaining unbeaten in their first four top-flight matches for the first time since the 2001/02 season. On the other hand, Jaissle’s unbeaten run as Newcastle manager has come to an end, as the Magpies’ six-match unbeaten streak against Leeds finishes in a decisive defeat.
