Bundesliga Roundup, Matchday 6
The sixth round of the 2026/27 Bundesliga season featured exciting games and outstanding displays. Below is the Bundesliga roundup of this matchday.
Frankfurt 1-0 FC Koln
Eintracht Frankfurt broke a streak of six home Bundesliga matches without a win by defeating FC Köln 1-0. Meanwhile, Köln’s winless streak away from home now stretches to 16 games (6 draws, 10 losses). With their first home Bundesliga victory since March, Frankfurt may be looking to have turned a corner.

Werder Bremen 2-2 Paderborn
Werder Bremen continued their unbeaten streak in the Bundesliga to five matches (2 wins, 3 draws) by staging a second-half comeback at home against Paderborn, resulting in a 2-2 draw. However, Werder Bremen missed the opportunity to climb into the top four and instead fell to eighth place. Despite falling behind in each of their last four Bundesliga games, they have managed to avoid defeat in all of them.
Union Berlin 0-0 Dortmund
Although Borussia Dortmund have not lost in the Bundesliga this season (4 wins, 2 draws), they have now gone three matches without a victory in all competitions (2 draws, 1 loss) following a 0-0 draw against the struggling Union Berlin.
Schalke 0-1 Mainz
Mainz achieved a club-record fifth consecutive Bundesliga away victory by defeating Schalke 1-0 at the Veltins-Arena, handing the Konigsblauen their first home loss in more than 13 months. Urs Fischer’s team withstood late pressure to claim only their second win in their last 17 Bundesliga matches at Schalke.

Hamburger SV 1-0 Stuttgart
Hamburger SV showed late heroics for the second consecutive week, with Miro Muheim scoring the sole goal in a 1-0 victory against VfB Stuttgart. This match also marked their first clean sheet in 20 Bundesliga games. Additionally, the result ended Stuttgart’s run of scoring in 24 straight Bundesliga away matches, which was a club record.
Elversberg 4-3 Augsburg
A quick burst from Elversberg set them on the path to a 4-3 win against Augsburg at the Waldstadion Kaiserlinde, breaking a three-game winless streak and preventing their opponents from keeping a clean sheet in 24 consecutive away league games. With this victory, Elversberg moved ahead of Augsburg into sixth place, maintaining their impressive start to their first Bundesliga season.
Bayern Munich 6-1 RB Leipzig
Bayern Munich rose to the top of the Bundesliga table after Luis Diaz’s brilliant hat-trick led the team to a commanding 6-1 win over RB Leipzig at the Allianz Arena. Although Bayern lost their clean sheet, it was an impressive performance that saw them move above Dortmund and Freiburg at the top of the table, while also securing their fourth consecutive victory over Die Roten Bullen.

Leverkusen 2-1 Freiburg
Patrik Schick scored to secure a 2-1 comeback victory for Bayer Leverkusen against Freiburg, becoming the first player in Die Werkself’s history to score in each of their first six Bundesliga matches of a season. With this win, Leverkusen now sit just behind third-placed Freiburg on goal difference, having handed the Breisgau-Brasilianer their first loss in 10 competitive games this season.

Monchengladbach 1-2 Hoffenheim
Borussia Monchengladbach have experienced their worst start to a Bundesliga season ever, following a 2-1 loss to Hoffenheim, marking their sixth consecutive defeat this season. They continue to sit at the bottom of the league table, whereas Hoffenheim moved out of the relegation zone by breaking a streak of three straight away league losses that began at this stadium in May.
