Real Madrid came from behind to secure a 2-1 victory over Mallorca in La Liga, despite having three goals disallowed, marking their 10th straight home win against Los Piratas. As expected, Los Blancos dominated the early part of the match and seemed to take the lead just six minutes in. Kylian Mbappé received a perfect pass from Trent Alexander-Arnold and calmly finished, but the goal was ruled offside. The disappointment at the Estadio Santiago Bernabéu turned into shock in the 18th minute when Vedat Muriqi outjumped Madrid’s defenders to head Pablo Torre’s corner past Thibaut Courtois.

Vinícius Júnior and Franco Mastantuono made speculative attempts that had little impact, while Leo Román struggled to save another shot from Aurélien Tchouaméni but was not penalized. The home team eventually equalized in the 37th minute with a cleverly executed short corner, ending with Dean Huijsen heading Álvaro Carreras’ cross back across the goal for Arda Güler to score with a header. Real Madrid quickly regained the lead moments later when Vinícius Júnior skillfully maneuvered into the box and placed the ball into the bottom corner.

Mbappé appeared to score before halftime, but his composed finish was disallowed for offside. Madrid had another goal disallowed when, after Mastantuono’s initial shot was saved, Martin Valjent’s clearance struck Arda Güler’s arm, then hit Román, and was subsequently put into the net by the Turkish player. Alexander-Arnold and Carreras helped Los Blancos maintain their lead despite that incident, making excellent defensive plays near their own goal line to block attempts from Muriqi and Samú Costa.

Brahim Díaz had a fierce shot blocked, and shortly after, Huijsen missed the target with a header from a delicate Mbappé cross. Although Madrid still couldn’t find a third goal, it didn’t matter much as they maintained their flawless start in La Liga with a third consecutive win. Mallorca remain with just one point from their three games, but since their losses were against Real Madrid and Barcelona, it is less worrisome.
