Ferdinand played 504 games in the Premier League, representing West Ham United, Leeds United, Manchester United and Queens Park Rangers. He won six Premier League titles with Manchester United, the most by any defender in the competition’s history. He also scored 11 goals and kept 189 clean sheets.

Ferdinand was known for his elegance, intelligence and leadership on the pitch. He was a master of reading the game and intercepting passes, as well as being strong in the air and composed on the ball. He formed a formidable partnership with Nemanja Vidic at the heart of Manchester United’s defence, helping the club dominate English football under Sir Alex Ferguson.

Ferdinand said he was honoured and humbled to join the Premier League hall of fame, alongside other legends of the game. He said he never dreamed of achieving such glory when he started his career as a teenager at West Ham. He thanked his managers, teammates and fans for their support and inspiration throughout his career.
