Mykhailo Mudryk, who has reaffirmed his desire to join Arsenal, has joined Shakhtar Donetsk for their training camp in Turkey ahead of the second half of the Ukrainian season, according to sources.

The winger is still a target for the Gunners, who are trying to improve their forward options this offseason.

Players from Shakhtar have resumed training and will start making plans for the remainder of the season in Turkey as Mykhailo Mudryk reiterates his desire for the club to quickly reach an agreement with Arsenal.

The two teams are currently in negotiations and according to 90min, a deal is as close as it has ever been with Arsenal optimistic of reaching a deal for Mykhailo Mudryk.

The main point of contention with Arsenal is how much of the sale price would be paid in add-ons and bonuses. It is believed that Shakhtar could agree to a sale worth more than €70 million. Shakhtar had previously used the €95 million contract Manchester United had with Antony as a bargaining chip.

Due in part to Gabriel Jesus’ knee injury, Mikel Arteta is looking for a new forward, but Eddie Nketiah has stepped into the starting lineup and has been on fire. Since the start of the World Cup, the academy graduate has scored four goals.

Arsenal’s pursuit of the Premier League championship continues on Sunday against rival Tottenham in the north London derby.
