After a “frustrating” tenure with Juventus, Dejan Kulusevski thinks his time at Tottenham has been a “breath of fresh air.” Kulusevski joined Tottenham on an initial 18-month loan agreement in January, with an option to buy if certain goals are met.

In January 2020, the Sweden international signed a €35 million agreement with Juventus and played the rest of the season on loan with Parma, where he was named Serie A’s Best Young Player. In his lone full season at the Allianz Stadium, he made 47 appearances, second only to Adrien Rabiot in terms of appearances for the Serie A giants.

Kulusevski had a promising debut year in Turin, scoring seven goals and assisting six more in all competitions, but he has only been directly involved in five goals in 27 appearances this season. Only seven of the 27 games were starts under Massimiliano Allegri, the joint-third most of any Juventus player, as the dynamic attacker fell down the pecking order.

Dejan Kulusevski has made an impression since joining Tottenham Hotspur, scoring twice and assisting four times in nine Premier League outings. Only Harry Kane and Son Heung-min have scored more goals for Spurs this season (both five) than him in the English Premier League.

“Things can change so quickly for a player,” Kulusevski told reporters ahead of Sweden’s World Cup play-off semi-final against Czech Republic on Thursday.

“There were many things at Juventus that weren’t working and it was very frustrating. I played one match a month always in a new position. My body did not feel good, I did not feel physically strong.
