Brighton Not Willing To Part Ways With Moises Caicedo

According to 90min, Moises Caicedo is a player that Brighton is determined to retain onto in January.

A number of teams are now attentively examining the 21-year-old midfielder who has recently emerged as one of the best young players in the world of football.

When Moises Caicedo left Ecuador in 2021, he was highly regarded, but it surprised many when he chose Brighton over clubs like Manchester United. Despite playing fewer than 50 Premier League games, he is making an impression with his consistent first-team football.

Given that Chelsea not only has former Brighton manager Graham Potter in charge, but also a plethora of backroom personnel who played a significant part in Caicedo’s success, it is not surprising that Chelsea are interested in acquiring him.

Moises Caicedo is a player that Manchester United, Liverpool, Arsenal, and Newcastle all have their eye on. If and when Brighton exhibits signs of wanting to offload the Ecuadorian, these teams will likely compete for his signature.

According to reports, the club does not anticipate any circumstances this month that would lead them to even consider a deal. With Caicedo’s contract having a firm end date of 2025, the Seagulls are likewise in a favourable position.

Paul Barber, the chief executive of Brighton, stated at the beginning of January that his squad would not be forced to let any first-team stars depart.

He said: “We have not offered anyone to anyone and have no plans to. In an ideal world our squad, which is as good as it has been for a long time, will remain intact through the whole of January and we will go into the second half of the season as we are.”
