Before Sunday’s crucial Premier League match between Manchester United and Arsenal, Mikel Arteta commended Erik ten Hag for orchestrating a quick turnaround in the Red Devils’ fortunes.
Prior to playing United, who remain the only team to defeat the Gunners in this season’s league, prevailing 3-1 at Old Trafford in September, Arsenal holds a five-point advantage at the top of the Premier League.
United is expected to finish in the top four after remaining undefeated in their last six Premier League games, despite the fact that their chances of competing for the championship now seem limited following Wednesday’s 1-1 draw against Crystal Palace (W5 D1).
Arteta has been impressed by Erik ten Hag’s performance at Old Trafford after orchestrating a similarly spectacular turnaround at Emirates Stadium.
“It’s very impressive. He’s turned things around pretty quickly,” Mikel Arteta said at Friday’s pre-match press conference.
“I think he has implemented a very clear way of playing. The players have bought into it and there’s a really good energy around the place.
“A lot of things have changed in a short period of time, so credit to him and the coaching staff for what they have done.”
