Arsenal vs Fulham Review
Arsenal put on a commanding performance to defeat Fulham 3-0 at the Emirates Stadium, improving their goal difference in a closely contested Premier League title race. They also extended their unbeaten streak at home against Fulham to 33 matches. The Gunners started strongly and took the lead within nine minutes when Bukayo Saka skillfully maneuvered past Raúl Jiménez and delivered a precise cross for Viktor Gyökeres to score. As captain, Saka remained lively on the right wing, while Leandro Trossard came close to scoring early on but shot wide.

The hosts showed no signs of easing up, with Bernd Leno having to confront Gabriel Magalhães to block his header, then quickly recovering to deny Gyökeres, although Saka’s follow-up shot went wide. The Emirates crowd erupted, believing Arsenal had scored again, but their cheers turned to groans when Riccardo Calafiori’s header was disallowed for offside. However, Arsenal’s persistence paid off shortly after, as the roles reversed from the opening goal: Saka received a pass from Gyökeres and fired the ball past Leno at the near post in the 40th minute.

The excitement continued in the final moments of the first half when Gyökeres stretched to head Trossard’s cross beyond the reach of the former Arsenal goalkeeper. At halftime, Saka was replaced by Noni Madueke. Soon after the restart, Jiménez nearly scored with an ambitious shot, and Timothy Castagne’s header was deflected wide. The Gunners kept pressing, with Leno making a crucial save to prevent Gyökeres from completing a hat-trick. The striker was substituted along with Declan Rice shortly after, as Mikel Arteta took the chance to rest key players ahead of the second leg of the UEFA Champions League semi-final against Atlético Madrid and the Premier League run-in.

Finally, in the 73rd minute, David Raya was called into action for his first save, stopping a shot from Timothy Castagne. Later, Calafiori saw his header saved by Leno, who deflected it onto the crossbar. However, Arsenal had already made their point by securing consecutive Premier League wins, dispelling any doubts about their scoring capabilities, and moving to the top of the table ahead of Manchester City’s Monday night game against Everton. Meanwhile, Fulham suffered only their second defeat in six Premier League matches, the other being against Liverpool, placing them 10th but still in contention for European qualification.
