Simone Inzaghi was asked about which players will be able to make their returns from injury in Saudi Arabia during an interview with Sky Sport on Sunday (via Milan News).

A few well-known athletes have been dealing with injuries, and according to Simone Inzaghi, the game is coming up too soon for at least two of them.

“I think Handanovic and Brozovic won’t be able to recover,” Inzaghi said.

Romelu Lukaku is another injured player who has been out for virtually the entire season due to a variety of problems. In Riyadh, he seemed to have a greater chance of obtaining minutes.

“We evaluate Lukaku day by day, he has this inflammation that prevents him from working at his best,” Simone Inzaghi explained.

The Supercoppa is both of these teams’ first opportunity to win a trophy, and considering how the league season has gone, at least one of them may end up with a trophyless campaign.
