PSG vs Bayern Munich Review
Luis Díaz scored twice before being sent off as Bayern Munich defeated Paris Saint-Germain 2-1 in the UEFA Champions League, ending Les Parisiens’ longest winning streak in the competition. The visitors broke through PSG’s defense just four minutes in, capitalizing on a turnover that led to Luis Díaz slipping his shot past Marquinhos after Michael Olise’s initial effort was saved. Later, Bradley Barcola made a misplaced pass that caused Aleksandar Pavlović’s shot to deflect off Willian Pacho and go out for a corner.

Luis Enrique’s team believed they had equalized in the 22nd minute when Ousmane Dembélé controlled a cross from Fabián Ruiz and scored, but the goal was disallowed due to an offside position. Frustration increased when Dembélé had to leave the game due to injury just three minutes later. The tension grew further when Barcola broke past Bayern’s defense but failed to score against Manuel Neuer. Gnabry was stunned when his shot struck both posts shortly after, but Díaz soon made up for it by stealing the ball from Marquinhos and scoring off the post.

However, Díaz spoiled his strong first half by receiving a red card for a reckless challenge on Achraf Hakimi, which caused the Moroccan to leave injured just before halftime. In the second half, PSG patiently built their attacks, but Barcola mishandled a chance from Nuno Mendes’ cross. Vitinha broke through Bayern’s solid defense to set up Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, whose shot was comfortably saved, and then Vitinha’s own ambitious attempt was also blocked. Finally, in the 74th minute, Les Parisiens pulled a goal back when João Neves slipped into the box to finish from Lee Kang-in’s cross.

The hosts kept pushing to see how much Vincent Kompany’s fatigued defense could withstand, but even when the defense slipped up, Neuer remained strong. João Neves and Lee both nearly scored an equalizer, and Jonathan Tah made crucial plays to help Bayern maintain their lead. This victory extends the visitors’ flawless record across all competitions this season to an impressive 16 games, secures their position at the top of the UCL standings, and ends PSG’s eight-match unbeaten streak.
