This summer, it’s said that Real Madrid wants to rekindle its interest in Kylian Mbappe. Along with their chase for Jude Bellingham, the Spanish powerhouses are attempting to take advantage of the turmoil at Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) and investigate a potential world record transfer for the French forward.
Real Madrid has talked about signing both players in what might be a record-breaking summer of expenditure in order to form a new “Galacticos” squad that may dominate Europe for the next ten years.
Prior to Kylian Mbappe agreeing to a new contract with his French club in 2022, Real Madrid wanted to sign him for £170 million. The 24-year-old Mbappe chose PSG over Real before agreeing to a new contract last year.
When the deal was revealed, he was shown off wearing a jersey with the year 2025 emblazoned on it, although it has since been widely reported that the last year is an option. Clubs may put pressure on PSG with bids this summer if he just has one season remaining on his current deal.
According to reports, Real Madrid is keen to assemble a team around Mbappe and reports from PSG claim that the Ligue 1 giants would stop at nothing to keep him at the club. However, if there is any indication that Mbappe may be put up for sale, Real Madrid will try to rekindle their interest in him.
Real Madrid regrets not signing him in 2022, and La Liga has complained to UEFA, the body that governs football in Europe, over the PSG contract extension. They called it “scandalous” since PSG suffered financial losses.
The first team of Real Madrid presently has a number of youthful players, with Eduardo Camavinga setting up Vinicius Jr. for the breath-taking first goal versus City. While Jude Bellingham has being eyed as a midfielder who may join their team right away, others like Aurélien Tchouaméni may be used as periphery players.
They were interested in signing Erling Haaland before he decided to sign with City, and there have been rumours that “Operation Haaland” may be revived in the future, but not this summer.
