On Wednesday against Costa Rica, Barcelona midfielder Gavi made his World Cup debut and created history by scoring Spain’s fifth goal. Following a cross from Alvaro Morata, the 18-year-old scored in the 74th minute of the game, writing his name simultaneously into the annals of soccer history.
Gavi is the youngest player in World Cup history to score for Spain at the tournament.

Also, after Pelé and Manuel Rosas, he became the third-youngest player to score a goal in World Cup history.

Even though Gavi just turned 18, he is already a vital member of both his club and his national team. His amazing breakthrough has also earned him the Kopa Trophy and the Golden Boy Award for 2022.
