Dortmund latest news: Jude Bellingham is a doubt for Dortmund’s match this weekend due to injury
According to coach Edin Terzic, Borussia Dortmund may not have midfielder Jude Bellingham available for their second-to-last Bundesliga game against Augsburg on Sunday. The team is currently one point behind Bayern Munich in the standings.
Bellingham has a knee injury and has not participated in training since the team’s 5-2 victory over Borussia Monchengladbach last week.
“He could not train since that game and we have to wait and see because he is still feeling some pain,” Terzic told a press conference.
“There is a big question mark for Sunday. Without any team training it is not really possible (to play).”
Dortmund currently holds the second position with 67 points and two games left. Terzic stated that regardless of Bellingham’s fitness, their team’s sole objective for Sunday remains the same.
“We could not win the last four away games,” he said. “There are reasons for that but we know that if we want to reach our goal at the end of the season then we need six points and the three at Augsburg on Sunday are part of those.”
Dortmund is also wishing for Bayern to lose against RB Leipzig on Saturday, which would give them a chance to catch up in the standings.
However, Terzic has not mentioned any celebration plans if they were to win the title. Dortmund has not won the league since 2012 and has been the runner-up six times since then.
“I have not spent a single thought on the day after the season because we want to have the focus only on what is in front of us. That’s the highest priority.”
“It has been a long time since we were in this position on the 32nd matchday so I am happy, happy driving through Dortmund and seeing boys and girls wear the club shirt.”
