Leeds United came back from being two goals down to secure an impressive 2-2 draw against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, continuing their strong recent run with only two losses in their last 13 Premier League matches (4 wins, 7 draws). Leeds performed well early on, with Brenden Aaronson winning a clumsy foul from Josh Acheampong as he threatened to advance towards goal. Despite this early warning, Chelsea opened the scoring in the 24th minute when Cole Palmer delivered a perfect pass to João Pedro, who calmly chipped the ball over the advancing Karl Darlow.
Chelsea tried to build on their lead as the first half went on, but they couldn’t increase their advantage, with Darlow saving a weak shot from Palmer and Pedro missing a good chance inside the box. Unfazed, the visitors earned their own penalty less than ten minutes later when Moisés Caicedo awkwardly tripped Jayden Bogle, and Lukas Nmecha calmly converted from 12 yards, sending Robert Sánchez the wrong way. This shifted momentum in Leeds’ favor, and Daniel Farke’s team surprisingly equalized in the 73rd minute after poor defending by Chelsea allowed Nmecha to assist substitute Noah Okafor for an easy goal.
After losing their lead within six minutes, Chelsea pushed hard for a winning goal as the final quarter-hour approached, with Pedro Neto nearly scoring from a curling cross that went just wide of the far post.
