The draw for the Champions League quarter-finals has been done, with Real Madrid drawing to face Chelsea. Real Madrid will be hoping to seek their revenge against Chelsea as Chelsea knocked them out of last season’s UCL; Manchester City will face Atletico Madrid. Benfica against Liverpool and Villarreal vs Bayern Munich are the other two matches.
Man City or Atletico will face one of Chelsea or Real Madrid in the last four, while the winner of Benfica versus Liverpool will face Bayern Munich or Villarreal for a chance to win the Champions League.
Unlike the round of 16, this was a completely open draw, which meant that any two teams might have been paired together, regardless of whether they had previously met in the group stage or are from the same country.
