Carlo Ancelotti not with Real Madrid squad in London due to Covid
Carlo Ancelotti did not travel with the rest of Real Madrid’s players and staff to London on Tuesday for the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final against Chelsea. Carlo Ancelotti tested positive for covid-19 last week and had to watch Real Madrid’s game with Celta Vigo from home on Saturday.
Real had hoped that Ancelotti would return to the bench to face Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, but his participation in the match remains uncertain. The Italian has not yet travelled to London, according to Spanish radio station OndaCero, and will instead undergo another PCR test on Wednesday morning in the hopes of being cleared to travel before the match that evening.

It is unknown if Ancelotti is suffering from any symptoms, with son and assistant manager Davide set to take over if he is unable to attend the game.
Real Madrid staged a stunning comeback in the second half of their last-16 match against Paris Saint-Germain to clinch a quarter-final meeting with Chelsea, and they appear to be in strong form heading into the match. Los Blancos’ only noticeable absentees are Eden Hazard and Luka Jovic, both of whom have played very minor roles at the Santiago Bernabeu this season.
