Pep Guardiola set to battle out Jurgen Klopp on Sunday in what will be Premier League match of the season
Jurgen Klopp and Pep Guardiola are set to go head-to-head again in the Premier League this coming Sunday,10th April with kick-off at Etihad at 15:30 GMT. Looking at just the one point difference between the Premier League defending champions, City and second placed Liverpool at the top of the table, the outcome of the coming clash is likely to have major implications for the title race.
In the champions league, Man City face Atletico Madrid in their second leg with Liverpool hosting Benfica at Anfield on the same night today, April 5. After both teams saw wins last Saturday, Man City got one point clear of Liverpool at the top of the Premier League table.
In an interview with sky sports, Pep Guardiola says Manchester City are in a “proper battle” with Liverpool for the Premier League title race, while Jurgen Klopp also insists that Liverpool is in the position they wanted to be in as they head to Etihad Stadium coming Sunday.

“The next Premier League game we will play against Liverpool so we know they are going to win almost all the games – hopefully not the next one – but we will try to do the same,” Guardiola said after City’s win at Turf Moor.
“When you arrive in May challenging to lift the title it means you have had an incredible season. Being here is because we work a lot and we have done that every single season. That is a lot of credit for the whole organization. We will fight. The opponent is so tough and good, but they said we will make a proper battle and we accept that,” says Pep.
Interestingly, Man city and Liverpool were neck and neck in the same similar fashion in the 2018/19 season as both teams put together winning runs before Guardiola’s side clinched the title by a point on the final day.
