Harry Kane became the first player since 2001 to score multiple goals in four straight Bundesliga matches, with his two goals helping Bayern Munich extend their lead to 11 points at the top of the Bundesliga after an exciting 3-2 victory over Borussia Dortmund in Der Klassiker. Michael Olise had the first clear opportunity of the match, but his left-footed shot was saved by Gregor Kobel. The home team faced another tense moment when Nico Schlotterbeck’s studs-up tackle on Josip Stanišić resulted only in a yellow card. This achievement surpassed his previous club record for goals in a single season, having scored 44 goals in 45 appearances last year. However, just as it seemed Kane would secure the victory, Svensson delivered an incredible first-time left-footed volley from Marcel Sabitzer’s cross to level the score for the home team.
Yet, the final dramatic moment favored Bayern, as Kimmich struck an excellent left-footed volley himself, ensuring the visitors claimed all three points and returned to Bavaria victorious. This goal ended Dortmund’s 16-match unbeaten streak in the league, severely damaging their hopes of winning the title.
