Simone Inzaghi Was Happy With Inter’s Performance In 1-0 Win Over Milan

Inter defeated struggling Milan 1-0 in the most dominant derby performance he can recall, and Simone Inzaghi thought they were “perfect.”

At San Siro on Sunday, Martinez’s first-half header handed the Rossoneri their fourth straight loss. Milan failed to record a shot on goal and now sits in sixth place in Serie A with a seven-game losing streak.

Inter, on the other hand, defeated their city rivals 3-0 in the Supercoppa Italiana last month and now sits second behind Napoli, who have won three in a row.

While Napoli appear to be out of reach with a 13-point lead at the top, Inter head coach Inzaghi feels a dominant derby performance proves they are still progressing.

He said: “I’m very satisfied, I complimented the team because they were perfect, I don’t remember a derby won and dominated in this way.

“We had a great derby, winning two in I think 20 days don’t always happen. We don’t look forward or backward in the standings, but only at us.”
