Milan Deny Rumours Concerning Rafael Leao’s Contract Talks

Published on:

In response to allegations on Tuesday, Milan has denied that there are any problems in the ongoing contract talks with Rafael Leao.

It was claimed in Italy that negotiations on a new contract between the club and the Portugal international had stalled.

It was reported that Leao’s entourage sought to dramatically lower his release clause because his contract at San Siro is set to expire in 2024.

However, Milan has denied that there has been a breach and insists that talks will go on.

“With regard to the article published today by the newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport titled: ‘Leao Milan total break’, Milan would like to clarify that the negotiation with Rafael Leao has not suffered any interruption,” a club statement read.

“The journalistic narrative of an alleged frost between the parties is not only totally unfounded but also harmful to the club and its player.

“AC Milan continues, in fact, the dialogue with Leao and his entourage in a serene and professional atmosphere.”

Leao has been linked to a number of teams, including Manchester City, Arsenal, and Chelsea, all members of the Premier League.
