Bundesliga Roundup, Matchday 13
The 13th matchday of the 2025/26 Bundesliga season featured exciting games and outstanding performances. Below is a recap of this Bundesliga matchday.
Mainz 0-1 Monchengladbach
Mainz suffered their first defeat since the dismissal of head coach Bo Henriksen earlier this week, falling 1-0 to mid-table Borussia Mönchengladbach. This loss keeps them at the bottom of the Bundesliga as they continue to search for their first home league win of the season.
Wolfsburg 3-1 Union Berlin
Wolfsburg snapped a 14-game winless streak at home in all competitions by defeating Union Berlin 3-1 at the Volkswagen Arena, maintaining their unbeaten record in top-tier home matches against this opponent (6 wins, 1 draw). This important win moves Wolfsburg to a point above the relegation zone. On the other hand, Union Berlin suffered their third straight loss in all competitions and now sit only three points ahead of Wolfsburg.
Stuttgart 0-5 Bayern Munich
Harry Kane was brought on as a substitute and scored a hat-trick as Bayern Munich secured their record-extending 72nd Bundesliga win against VfB Stuttgart, dominating with a 5-0 victory to increase their lead at the top of the league to 8 points. Bayern also established a new Bundesliga record by scoring multiple goals in 21 consecutive matches, marking their 16th win in the last 17 visits to Stuttgart.

Heidenheim 2-1 Freiburg
Heidenheim achieved back-to-back Bundesliga victories for the first time since March, thanks to a late goal that secured a 2-1 win over Freiburg at Voith-Arena. The home team ended a four-match winless streak on their own ground but remain in the relegation play-off spot. Freiburg missed the opportunity to narrow the gap to the European qualification positions and will be disappointed to lose after taking the lead.
FC Cologne 1-1 St Pauli
St. Pauli broke their streak of nine consecutive Bundesliga losses by securing a late 1-1 draw against FC Köln at the RheinEnergieSTADION, with Ricky Jade-Jones scoring an equalizer in the 94th minute. The visitors continue to hold the second-to-last position in the Bundesliga standings. Meanwhile, Köln climbed to 8th place after being denied a win in the final moments.
Augsburg 2-0 Leverkusen
Augsburg, despite being at risk of relegation and having a poor recent head-to-head record, performed impressively by defeating Bayer Leverkusen 2-0 at the WWK Arena. This result marked only Leverkusen’s second loss in their last 40 Bundesliga away matches. If Leverkusen still had any chance of winning the title, it is now effectively gone, as they are 14 points behind the league leaders, Bayern Munich.

RB Leipzig 6-0 Frankfurt
RB Leipzig secured their seventh consecutive home victory across all competitions by defeating Eintracht Frankfurt 6-0 at the Red Bull Arena. This dominant win keeps Leipzig eight points behind Bundesliga leaders Bayern Munich. Meanwhile, Frankfurt’s momentum has been significantly halted, as they stay in seventh place, just one point shy of the European qualification spots.

Hamburger SV 3-2 Werder Bremen
The first Nordderby in four seasons lived up to expectations, as Hamburger SV rallied from behind to defeat SV Werder Bremen 3-2, extending their record to just one loss in six Bundesliga games at the Volksparkstadion. This marks Hamburg’s first head-to-head win at this stadium since April 2016, while Bremen continue to await their first away victory since mid-September.
Dortmund 2-0 Hoffenheim
Julian Brandt netted a goal in his 200th Bundesliga match for Borussia Dortmund, contributing to his team’s 2-0 win against fellow top-four contenders TSG Hoffenheim at the Signal Iduna Park. Hoffenheim still share the same number of points as fourth place Leverkusen and will face Hamburger SV next week, a team that has yet to secure an away victory this season.
